Eric looks first to his friend Andy and then turns towards the other members of the archeological team and says,

"The professor's been gone a long time.  I hope he's not lost or trapped somewhere in the ruins."

Andy, who has been Eric's best friend for the past three years, and fellow conspirator in various adventures, brushes the dust off his pant legs and replies,

"Yeah, or mugged by that group of spooks he said were shadowing him.   Ever since word got out that he might be on the trail of the Ark he's felt like someone is on his trail.  You know, like spying on him."

Krista, an adventurous blond, casually pulling back her hair, looks over the tumbled brown stones of an ancient wall and exclaims:

"You guys are paranoid.  All these stories of intrigue and espionage.  The professor probably makes that stuff up. Don't worry, he's probably lost somewhere, deep in thought studying some ancient artifacts. He really eats that stuff up!"
