A look of joyous surprise comes over the students. Recovering from their initial shock they gather around and eagerly greet him.

"Professor it's you. Where have you been?
We are so happy to see you!  What was that noise and all that smoke?"

The professor, dusting himself off, replies, "Oh that!  I had to blast some rock away.  I came back through a different tunnel that was blocked.  A small charge of explosives did the trick."

Eric and Andy, still distracted by the leather bags, gather up the coins spilling from them and exclaim,

"Professor this is gold, where did you get it?"
